The purpose of the article is to examine the methods used by sound engineers of Ukrainian films in the musical design of works to achieve stylistic and semantic syncretism. The research methodology involves applying a range of approaches, namely: an empirical approach — viewing the films, careful analysis and study of the film's musical design, systematic literature review, defining key concepts, analysing the impact of technologies, collecting and analysing data, formulating conclusions and discussions, as well as providing suggestions and recommendations. The scientific novelty lies in expanding the understanding of approaches to musical design in film production, which currently involves a synthesis of various technical components and syncretism of meanings, significantly contributing to the transformation of the audio space and revealing new creative possibilities. Conclusions of the research confirm that modern approaches of sound engineers and composers in the film industry are not only high-tech and cutting-edge for the sound engineering and sound design industry as a whole, but also enhance the film's semantic load and synthesise directorial metaphors, shaping immersion and encouraging the viewer to delve into the audio-visual work and understand its meaning as accurately as possible.
