Digital Representation of Ukraine’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in Library and Information Projects

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze library and information projects aimed at the digital representation of Ukraine’s intangible cultural heritage and to determine their role in preserving, documenting, and promoting cultural heritage in the modern information environment. Methodology. The study is based on the analysis of library and information resources, digital exhibitions, web bibliographic digests, multimedia projects, and bibliographic indexes devoted to Ukraine’s intangible cultural heritage. Systemic, comparative, and content analysis methods were applied to assess the structure, functionality, and effectiveness of digital resources, as well as to identify directions for the development of library and information practices in the context of cultural heritage digitalization. The scientific novelty of the article lies in a comprehensive generalization of the experience of digital representation of intangible cultural heritage in library and information projects, including digital exhibitions, web bibliographic digests, and multimedia resources. For the first time, practical mechanisms for the digitalization of intangible cultural heritage have been systematized, and the role of libraries in ensuring access to information and integrating traditional and modern forms of documentation has been evaluated. Conclusions. The analysis confirms that library digital platforms serve as an effective tool for the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage. Digital resources provide a wide audience with access to cultural information, enhance the interactivity of materials, and contribute to the development of national consciousness. Therefore, libraries in Ukraine perform not only a preservation function but also an active educational role, integrating scientific, cultural, and educational aspects of intangible cultural heritage in the digital environment and creating conditions for the sustainable development of cultural and educational practices.
