The purpose of this article is to explore the use of mobile applications as tools for optimising online library services and meeting users' information needs, as well as to identify promising areas for further use. The methodology of thе article It is based on the application of general scientific methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization) and special methods (content analysis of library websites) at the empirical and theoretical levels, which made it possible to comprehensively study various aspects of the research. The scientific novelty. The article reveals theoretical and practical aspects of using mobile applications as tools for optimizing online library services and meeting users' information needs, and identifies promising areas for further use. Conclusions. The theoretical and practical aspects of using mobile applications as tools for optimizing online library services and meeting users' information needs in the context of digitalization were considered; It has been found that the use of mobile applications in the library sector is considered a promising and effective means of providing users with access to information resources, which contributes to the optimization of online library service processes and the promotion of library activities. It has been established that mobile applications, as an innovative form of library service, provide users with free access to electronic resources and collections, satisfying their information needs. Mobile applications in libraries are a key tool for optimizing online services and meeting the diverse information needs of users: from quick resource searches to personalized recommendations. Promising areas for the further use of mobile applications and their relevance to user needs have been identified.
