Results of winter wheat breeding for grain quality at the V.M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat for last 15 years are analyzed. Success in devel-oping new winter wheat varieties that combine high grain quality with produc-tivity and other traits is possible only when a targeted search for new genetic factors of quality, continuous and systematic evaluation of initial material and control of the trait during all stages of selection.
