Ther paper presents the results on the study of intervarietalhybridic F1-F3 populations of kidney beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) as to the traits of suitability to machine harvesting in the conditions of the northen part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. A considerable polymorphism of the traits as to their tecnological ability is revealed. The latter’s nature of inheritance included all the transitions from a positive overdominance to a negative intermediate inharitance and was determined by combination of components of crosses. It is shown the investi-gated hybridic populations are distinguished by the frequency of accurrence of transgressive forms, wich are expedient to select starting from the third genera-tion; in the second generation the manifestation of a heterotic effect has still been observed.
