In the Institute for Plant Production nd. a. V. Ya. Yuryev of UAAS 25 specimens of spring barley are investigated among there are 10 brewing varieties, which have entered the State Variety List, 3 varieties being gone through the State trialing and 10 promising lines. The investigations were carried out to determine agronomic value of the varieties and lines as a raw material for brewing, as well as, their breeding value as sources of high crop capacity, quality, resistance to unfavorable growing conditions, disease causal agents and pests. The varieties Parnas, Vyklyk, Zvershennya, Etiket, Lad, Dokaz as the most valuable for brewing by their good crop capacity and grain quality, v. Parnas as a source of the complex resistance to covered smut and intrastalk pests, v. Modern, Stojar and the line 02-224/99-2 as the sources of the group resistance to causal agents of smut diseases have been identifiedDownloads
