The article presents the methods breeding of winter wheat in southern Russia. Showingbackgrounds screening methods to accelerate the breeding process, the evaluation of morphological and physiological properties of the grain. Sets out the details of selectionof winter wheat on productivity, quality, frost resistance and winter hardiness, drought tolerance, disease resistance.
