The data on the use of the culture in vitro in order to get somaclonal variants of Eleusine indica, which can be considered as the original material for a consequent selection of new cultivars of the crop, are presented. It is stated that the line- SE-1 has high protein content, non-nitrous extractive matters, dry matter at the least amount of fibre somaclone SE-4 is characterized as bioenergetic culture due to an increased sugar content. The line- SE-7 is of a great interest to breeders as it possesses an increased seed yielding ability and green mass, an accelerated passing of main vegetation phases. Somaclonal variability can become a tool for the creation of new cultivarsDownloads
