SOCIAL WORK WITH CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS: COMMUNICATIVE ASPECTct

The article analyzes the specifics of communicative interaction social worker with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It is noted that the formation of communication skills in children with ASD is primarily a problem of social, educational and psychological nature and requires study and practical solutions. The characteristics and forms of communication of children with autism have been outlined. The major programs for development of communicative interaction autistic children have been analyzed. The main stage of the ASD child communication and their implications for planning social worker has been caracterized. It’s indicated that professional training to work with children with ASD should include five aspects: theoretical knowledge about autism; knowledge of diagnostic tools; adaptation to specific environmental handicaps or disorder in a child (development of an alternative system of interaction); functionality of knowledge and skills that a child learns from the ASD; adaptation of educational and developmental techniques to the characteristics of the child with the ASD. The concept of alternative communication and its importance for the development of communication skills of children with ASD has been revealed.References
