Ensuring of National Minorities Cultural Needs In Slovak Republic

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state of national minority rights ensuring in the Slovak Republic. The methodology of the study is interdisciplinary combining analysis and synthesis, description, regulatory analytical research. The scientific novelty of the received results lies in the complex analysis of government activities concerning the ensuring of national minorities and ethnic groups’ rights in the Slovak Republic. Conclusions. All the citizens of the Slovak Republic have the same rights regardless of nationality. The government provides comprehensive support to the development of the material and spiritual culture of national minorities. At the same time, Slovak Government acknowledges the problems in this area and created special organs to solve them such as National Minorities Ombudsman, Government Council on Human Rights, National Minorities and Gender Equity, National Minorities Culture Fund. Also “The Strategy for development of local, regional and national minority culture till 2030” was presented in 2018. So Slovak Republic citizens that belong to national minorities and ethnic groups enjoy the opportunity to develop their material and spiritual culture, exercise state-guaranteed rights, and bring to life opportunities provided by the legislation of Slovak Republic.
