The purpose of the research is to identify the functioning of melodic formula/constellations as structural units of form on the material of Ukrainian sacred monody of the 16th–18th centuries in the context of musicological progress of the 20th–21st centuries. The methodological basis of the research is the application of general scientific methods: chronological and source studies, which emphasise the perspective of musicological studies of the structure of sacred monody, as well as analytical, generalising and interdisciplinary, which outline the prospects for the use of computer technologies in the study of sacred monody. The applied research methodology is an accentuation of the durability of the main approaches to the analysis of medieval monody, which are based on the separation of intonation-chorus structural units as the formative bases of the sacred repertoire. On the material of the selected repertoire of Ukrainian irmologions, the prospects of a new approach to the analysis of monody are determined thanks to the application of the latest computer technologies. Conclusions. Ukrainian notolinear irmologions of the 16th–18th centuries are a unique national phenomenon that allows us to explore the deep foundations of sacred monody. Thanks to modern computer technologies and interdisciplinary research, we get the opportunity to study in more detail the structural features of sacred monody at the level of melos and text. In the future, this will help to find the connection between Byzantine, Slavic and Kyivan notations at the structural, metrical, modal and syntactic levels.
