Abstract

The article studies the mechanism of project-oriented management of development of stevedoring companies. The aim of the work is to analyze the factors influencing the project activity of stevedoring companies under present-day conditions, and to identify the ways of the project-oriented management of their further development.

In course of the work we used the methods of theoretical and empirical research. The methodological base of the article was the systematic approach and the theory of project management. The analytical method was used in the selection of scientific information on the topic of the article. The methods of statistical analysis were used to make conclusions about the results of stevedoring activities.

The article concerns also the possibilities of the development of the project activity of stevedoring companies in connection with the adoption of the law of Ukraine "On the seaports." The basic positive and negative sides of the law were determined. The basic constraints in the development of port activity were figured out. The recommendations on the decision of identified problems were given. We believe that the identified problems could be solved by means of the project activity, which permits: to direct the company towards its objectives; to enter new markets with new services; to implement operational capacity of a company; to improve competitiveness. We have determined the factors, which should be considered while developing the projects in port industry in terms of the system vision.

The results may be used by scholars and practitioners involved in the development of stevedoring companies.

The analysis has permitted to identify the ways of successful implementation of various projects of a separate stevedoring company.
