Abstract

According to the World Health Organization classification, the heavy metal cadmium (Cd) is one of the most hazardous substances for human health.
To identify cadmium in substances only laboratory methods that are complicated and time-consuming are currently used, while cadmium operative identification methods are absent.

One of the ways cadmium gets into the human body is through the daily use of enameled and ceramic glassware.

Object under control and existing experience of specialists in this field are researched.

It is proved that the glassware cover of the following colors is safe: white, cream, gray-blue, blue and black. All other colors of enamels and glazes, especially from bright lemon yellow to red colors, may contain large quantities of cadmium chemical compounds.

Knowledge database was created to provide specialized expert computer system for cadmium identification. It contains facts that describe the problem area and logical relationship between these facts.

Expert system interpreter is also developed. It processes data contained in the knowledge database in certain order. Interpreter consistently examines a set of rules (rule by rule). In case of norm compliance contained in the rule, the particular action is exercised, and the user is provided with a solution variant of a given problem.

Software operation algorithm is created for specialized expert computer system for cadmium identification.

Specialized expert computer system for cadmium identification is developed. Thus, the basis for effective measures aimed at reducing the negative effects of cadmium on the human body is developed
