The article presents the results of the development of a method, which permits to determine the values of functional parameters of the upper airways, when planning the surgery of nose. The study is devoted to the computer modeling of the nasal breathing. The article provides a physio-physiological substantiation of the method of evaluation of characteristics of external breathing of a person on the basis of modeling of air motion in the nasal ducts. To develop the aerodynamic model of the upper airways we used the mathematical modeling and numerical methods. Also, we used the methods for digital processing and analysis of the human head tomography to determine the geometric characteristics of the anatomical structures of the nasal cavity.
As a result, we proposed the algorithm of evaluation of characteristics determining the sufficiency or insufficiency of the upper airways functions. This algorithm can be used to evaluate the function of the upper airways as a basis for the rhinoplasty in otolaryngology and plastic surgeryReferences
