Resistance and heat exchange of crosswise inserts in a pipe

The influence of divided cruciform insert on the hydraulic resistance and heat transfer in a round tube is studied. As shown, increase in a gap between tube and insert leads to reduction in the hydraulic resistance. Application of smooth insert increases the heat transfer coefficient up to 50% at ReD of 63000, and up to 35% at ReD of 110000 compared to a smooth tube data.References
