Distance learning is a type of learning, based on educational interaction of teachers and students at a distance, which is realized by means of the telecommunication technologies and the Internet. The article analyzes the storage format of distance course content for the learning control systems – SCORM. Three main sections were considered in the format: Content Aggregation Model, Run-time Environment and Sequencing and Navigation. Each of them is analyzed on the applicability of SCORMformat for learning control systems. In addition, this format is analyzed on its applicability in online distance learning systems. There is a justification of the choice of SCORM-format as the standard for distance learning systems. The main arguments for SCORM-format usage are accessibility, adaptability, efficiency, permanence, interoperability and reusability.References
