The article considers the analytical method of finding the point of intervention in the process of transportation of hydrocarbons - leaking or criminal deprivation. The analytical method is the most efficient one for steady-state conditions of transport of hydrocarbons in the main delivery ducts. It permits to determine the location of the point of intervention in the process, as well as to evaluate the metrological characteristics of the method: the variance of this estimate of leak location, depending on the metrological characteristics of the measurement devices of process parameters of hydrocarbons (pressure, flow, temperature and density), the variance of estimates and heat transfer coefficients. The suggested method could be the most effective for the main delivery ducts, which have the distance between the metering units of five - ten kilometers. Nowadays, the designed method is tested at one of the condensate linesReferences
