In this paper we will research the perspectives of application of 1C-ProfCase instruments for the modeling and optimization of business processes in an IT firm. The goal of the research is to analyze the modern methods of formalization and instruments of reengineering of business processes in an IT firm that are used to increase effectiveness of internal business processes, quality and responsiveness of IT-services, minimization of IT-budgets, both from the developer’s and consumer’s side. After analysis of the IT firms working in the segment of 1C-Franchise the essential business processes were found. The critical processes requiring optimization were also found. The effects of leaving them “as they are” were studied too. Utilizing methodological recommendations and 1C-ProfCase software features we conducted their optimization and estimated their economic impact. As a result of the modeling we created a new regulated and efficient business process that will allow the workers to plan their time effectively, adequately distribute the workload and discover the possibilities for automation.
