The article suggests ways to improve the characteristics of internal gear pumps, taking into account the influence of different criteria on the design of pumping unit with the specified quality indicators. The need to develop techniques, which would provide high output characteristics at the design phase, is acknowledged by many researchers in the field of gear pumps. The work on the modeling of the basic units of the pump showed that to improve the adequacy of the models and efficiency of application of modern optimization methods while designing, one should take into account a number of important factors. The experience in the design of machines of various technical purposes using the optimization method shows that these problems are multicriterial, as when choosing the best variant, one has to take into account a lot of different requirements, which are often contradictory. Equally, it refers to the volume hydraulic machines, where there are reserves to reduce the volume and hydro-mechanical losses in the main units, and to reduce “bad volume” and weight and size characteristics. Herewith, the modern methods of optimization theory of systems and creation of software complexes of PCs create objective conditions for the solution of these issues.References
