Social rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in a psycho-neurological boarding house: theoretical analysis of a scientific problem

The article provides a theoretical analysis of the scientific problem of social rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the conditions of a psychoneurological boarding school.
The author established that psychoneurological boarding schools, geriatric boarding schools for war and labor veterans and other institutions that provide social and medical and social services with accommodation, as well as institutions for institutional care and upbringing of children (boarding-type educational institutions, orphanages, centers for social and psychological rehabilitation of children, centers for rehabilitation of children with disabilities, etc.) in war conditions also faced a serious challenge – how to protect everyone who works and lives there, and also, if possible, continue to provide proper care and ensure decent living conditions for their wards.
The main goal of the psychoneurological boarding school is to steadily improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities, to create for them a favorable therapeutic environment adequate to their age, health and individual characteristics.
Domestic experts describe the main approaches to social work in healthcare institutions and the problematic issues related to this. However, the issue of involving social workers in solving mental health problems, the content and functions of their activities in state mental health institutions, psychoneurological boarding schools remains open.
Research methodology: to achieve the stated goal of the study, the study is based on the analysis of scientific works, methods of theoretical generalization, comparison, systemic approach and systemic analysis.
Analysis of theoretical approaches to the problem of social rehabilitation of people with disabilities in the conditions of a psychoneurological boarding school indicates the need for further research in this direction.
Further research is required to generalize and clarify the regulatory and legal principles of rehabilitation of people with disabilities in order to identify the best aspects and determine the prospects for improving the system of social services and social rehabilitation of people with psychoneurological disorders, in particular, in the context of decentralization of the social protection system in Ukraine.
