The article exposes one of key problems of musicology – cycle and recurrence on the example of a stage work of society choral music – choral cycle of S. I. Taneev on words of Y. Polonskiy op. 27. Accenting on analogies between parts of work, similarity of principles of development, voice-frequency dramaturgy, an author underlines a difference in determinations cycle, collection.
