THE INFLUENCE OF HELFORD MACKINDER UPON THE FORMATION OF EASTERN BORDERLANDS OF POLAND IN 1919-1920

The activity of Halford J. Mackinder in 1919-1920, in the context of the projects of Intermarium (the regionbetween the Baltic and Black seas) alliance is considered. The relations between Mackinder and Józef Piłsudski, AntonDenikin, Pyotr Wrangel are analyzed. The attempts of Mackinder to implement the concept of "middle tier", internationalalliance of Intermarium, are highlighted, the result of these efforts on the formation of Polish state borders is determined.
