Abstract

Freemasonry as a political and social phenomenon is viewed. The main versions of freemason origins and its typology are reviewed. The main rules of the freemason constitution and their historic links with different churches and state authority are analyzed. The stages of Ukrainian freemasonry development and its political orientations in XVIII-XX centuries are highlighted.
