The purpose of the work is to describe the genre landmarks of Bohdan Antkiv's music – overture, instrumental piece, choral miniature. The stylistic features of the compositions written by the author are identified – Ukrainian and European musical academicism, folklore, and contemporary mass music. The author analyses the musical and theatrical works that are integral and indivisible components of Bohdan Antkiv's artistic projects. The article also outlines the significance of his work in the system of Ukrainian national musical culture. The research methodology includes musicological, analytical and theoretical methods that make it possible to clarify the genre priorities of Bohdan Antkiv's musical and theatrical works. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that it is the first to trace the features of an individual composer's style and their manifestation in the genre spectrum of the artist's creative heritage. The music for performances at the Ternopil Taras Shevchenko Music and Drama Theatre (1948–1963) is analysed, and his most important works are highlighted. Conclusions. Bohdan Antkiv's compositional creativity was most vividly revealed in the field of theatre music, where the artist managed to expand his stylistic palette and convey his original author's aesthetics in the context of mass and pop music. Bohdan Antkiv entered the musical and theatrical art of Galicia as a person of extraordinary creative potential, whose life was a feat of asceticism in many areas of artistic activity. His compositions became part of the stage design, which successfully emphasised the emotional impact, drama and atmosphere of the performance.
