The purpose of the research is to determine the ontological features of the art of dramatic theatre with the aim of separating it from other types of theatrical art and minimising its influence on the specific discourse of puppet theatre art. The methodology of the research. In the article, in the process of determining the influence of the discursive features of the art of dramatic theatre on the discourse of the art of the puppet theatre, the method of art and cultural analysis, systematisation and generalisation is used. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the definition of the ontology of the art of dramatic theatre, its specifics by analogy with the definition of the specifics of the art of the puppet theatre, taking into account the method of F. Nietzsche, and an attempt was made to eliminate contradictions in the theatrical terminology related to the art of the puppet theatre and the art of the dramatic theatre. In contrast to the optics of actors of the dramatic theatre, which is characterized by a dramaturgical approach, the definition of specificity is made by focusing on the means of expression, turning to the empirical experience of Y. Grotovsky. Conclusions. An attempt has been made to eliminate contradictions in the specific terminology of the art of the puppet theatre, which are caused by the influence of Apollonian intentions, which were introduced into the discourse of the art of the dramatic theatre under the influence of the aesthetics of classicism and realism. It is proposed to separate the art of dramatic theatre into a separate type of theatrical art, and its definition is given. It has been found that the art of dramatic theatre is a type of theatrical art in which an artistic image is created, mainly, with the help of an actor's "reincarnation" by means of expressiveness created by the psychophysical apparatus of the actor's body. The terminology of both types of art has been clarified, the limits of the term "theatre art" have been clarified.
