The purpose of the article is to provide a cultural analysis of the genesis of the concept of ‘educational design’, outlining its specificity as an effective tool in the formation of the domestic arts-educational space. The research methodology is based on general scientific research methods – analytical, cultural, systemic, comparative, and interdisciplinary. A cultural-historical and semantic analysis were applied, as well as the modelling method. Scientific novelty. Based on the proposed comprehensive model of educational design, the conceptualisation of the term in the context of the arts-educational space is carried out for the first time. The role of educational design as a mechanism for cultural-transformative processes is defined. It is demonstrated that educational design shapes a new learning culture that integrates foreign experience, traditional artistic practices, and innovative technologies. Conclusions. Educational design in the artistic and educational space is not only a tool for optimising the learning process but also a cultural-creative mechanism that contributes to the formation of a creative personality, its aesthetic worldview, cultural intelligence, value orientations, and professional self-realisation. Its implementation in Ukrainian art educational institutions creates the prerequisites for developing new educational programs based on interdisciplinary approaches, the integration of modern technologies, and personalised learning trajectories. Thanks to educational design, an innovative artistic and educational space is formed, combining traditional artistic practices, global trends, and digital technologies. This facilitates the development of interactive art spaces, the creation of digital platforms for artistic interaction, and the application of VR/AR technologies in the educational process, thereby expanding opportunities for experimentation and adaptation to the global cultural context. For the first time in the scientific discourse of applied cultural studies, educational design has been conceptualised as a dynamic process of forming a universal artistic learning environment. The proposed structural model of educational design integrates modern pedagogical and cultural principles, promoting the development of the artistic and educational space as a cultural-creative phenomenon. A special role is played by the creation of an inclusive object-spatial environment that takes into account architectural, aesthetic, and psychological-pedagogical requirements. Thus, educational design serves as a strategic tool for cultural-creative transformations in Ukraine’s artistic and educational space. It not only enhances the efficiency of the learning process but also contributes to building an environment that fosters new cultural practices, aesthetic values, and expands opportunities for the development of a creative personality.
