The purpose of the work is to highlight aspects of the performing creativity of national brass bands within the framework of the All-Ukrainian festival ‘Trumpets of Ukraine’. The methodology of the work includes the comprehensive use of approaches and methods, in particular: theoretical analysis of sources – to understand the features of the creativity of Ukrainian orchestral groups in the context of the state festival movement of brass music, as well as the processes of the ‘Trumpets of Ukraine’ festival; the comparison method – to compare the repertoire policy and performing style of various national brass bands that participated in the festival, taking into account their artistic direction and regional characteristics; a systematic approach – to generalise and systematise the trends in the development of orchestral brass performance in Ukraine using the example of the festival as a platform for preserving the role and popularisation of national traditions of brass art. The scientific novelty of the study is represented by several provisions: the role of the ‘Trumpets of Ukraine’ festival in the formation of the modern repertoire and performing practice of brass bands is determined; the repertoire of the participants, their interpretative features, the interaction of classical traditions and the latest trends in the performance of the groups is analysed; for the first time, attention is focused on the ‘Trumpets of Ukraine’ festival as a platform for cultural diplomacy, which promotes international exchange of experience and popularisation of brass band performance on an international scale. Conclusions. The ‘Trumpets of Ukraine’ festival is a unique phenomenon in the field of Ukrainian orchestral brass performance, which performs an important function: popularisation and development of national musical traditions. The study of its impact on the creativity of brass bands allows us to assess the significance of this event as a platform for exchanging experience, improving performing skills and integrating Ukrainian groups into the international musical space.
