Abstract

Ukrainian war on the creative activity of the companies of Ukrainian musical and drama theatres. Research methodology. The systematic-analytical and deductive method (to consider the activities of the collectives of Ukrainian musical and drama theatres under martial law), the structural-functional method, the method of repertoire analysis, the genre-stylistic method, the interpretative method, as well as the method of art history analysis were used. Scientific novelty. The issues of the activities of Ukrainian musical and drama theatres under martial law (since 24 February 2022 to the present day) were considered. The transformation processes affecting repertoire policy, directing and production activities, creative collaboration, the development of theatrical art through the development of new forms and formats are analysed. Conclusions. The transformation of the creative activity of the collectives of Ukrainian musical and drama theatres since the outbreak of the open phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war (24 February 2022) has taken place both externally and internally, having been manifested in: a change in repertoire policy (banning Russian-language productions, plays by Russian authors, expanding the repertoire with productions of plays by modern Ukrainian and foreign authors, dramatic works of classical heritage), the emergence of innovative formats for the representation of theatrical creativity, mediated by information and communication technologies (online performances, online readings, short videos on social media), the emergence of a new ideological and thematic orientation of productions (covering various aspects of human life in conditions of war and the struggle for life and freedom), the strengthening of heroic-patriotic themes.
