Abstract

The purpose of the article to outline the artistic uniqueness of the culture of screen directing in the interpretation of the biography and creativity of an artist-painter in the audiovisual environment. Research methodology. The methodological foundations of scientific studies are the use of a culturological approach. The study of original directorial interpretations of the unique life activity and the creation of paintings by an outstanding artist-painter in the context of modern spiritual culture led to the use of a systematic approach, which involved combining culturological and art history analysis, which contributed to the optimal organisation of research empirical data. The use of the structural-functional method made it possible to carry out a deep analysis of the directors’ screen tools and their multifunctional vocation. The use of content analysis was intended to study the collective authorship in the screen plane of the director, operator, artists, and actors in the visualisation of the figure of the painter. Scientific novelty of the study lies in substantiating the potential for interaction and mutual exchange between the visual and audiovisual arts in the process of rethinking and on-screen representation of the personality and creative work of a famous artist using the latest directorial tools and modern screen, personal, immersive technologies. Conclusions. It is argued that with the help of innovative directorial techniques in feature and chronicle-documentary cinema, artists are given the opportunity not only to popularise some aspects of the life and work of painters among the mass public, but also to demonstrate the potential of progressive screen methods of imprinting, reproducing, and animating both the creative activity of masters in the field of visual arts and their artistic heritage.
