The purpose of the article is to substantiate the feasibility of considering dance culture through the prism of creative industries research. The research methodology. The terminological method, methods of analysis and synthesis, and theoretical generalisation were used to conduct the research. The scientific novelty. For the first time, the feasibility of using cultural optics to consider choreographic culture as an industry has been proven. Conclusions. The research has proven the feasibility of considering dance culture through the prism of creative industries research and the validity of using the term ‘dance industry’ to designate the spectrum of production of creative products and services related to dance. Today, creative industries include artistic creation with existing production technology, an economic component, and a high role of individual creativity and innovation. Activities in the field of dance culture correspond to the key characteristics of creative industries, as they are based on creative human labour, produce a wide range of products and services (from stage productions and other performative practices to educational, media, festival-competition and commercial formats of activity), operate in conditions of flexible, often project-based forms of organisation of activity, and are an important element of the economy. Among the promising areas of further research are the determination of the components of the dance industry, clarification of the main stages of its formation, identification of its role in the development of creative industries in Ukraine, substantiation of productive directions for the development of dance culture as a creative industry.
