The purpose of the article is to substantiate the role of art periodicals as a form of the discursive dimension of the market circulation of art. The methodological foundation of the study is comprised of culturological, institutional, and discursive approaches to the analysis of art and the art market. Their synthesis provides a basis for examining art periodicals as a discursive space for the formation of artistic meanings, visual representations, cultural memory, and the symbolic capital of artistic phenomena. Scientific novelty. Despite a significant body of literature dedicated to the history, typology, and publishing specificities of art magazines, their conceptualisation as a form of the discursive dimension of the market circulation of art remains insufficiently explored. Artistic value in contemporary culture is generated through the integration of an artwork, an artist’s name, or an art event into the domain of public description, interpretation, representation, and institutional recognition. Art periodicals serve as one of the primary spaces for this integration, as within them, artifacts, artists’ figures, and events (exhibitions, art fairs, museum projects, auctions) establish the strategies for the articulation of art. Conclusions. Art periodicals facilitate the entry of an art event, a work, or an author’s artistic practice into the broader space of institutional circulation. Drawing on the cases of Art-cursive, [esthète], Verve, and Antykvar, the study demonstrates that periodicals shape the discursive toolkit for art description and the manifestation of artists, record exhibition and market events, reproduce visual images, and accumulate cultural memory alongside evidence of professional recognition. These elements are essential for the subsequent institutional and market consolidation of artistic significance.
