Abstract

The purpose of the work is to explore music festivals as a multifunctional cultural space that ensures the interaction of participants in the musical process and forms new styles and artistic practices. The research methodology is based on a systematic approach, structural and functional analysis (performers, audience, organisers, institutions), interdisciplinarity (cultural studies, musicology, social communication) and discourse analysis of globalisation transformations. Scientific novelty is the justification of the festival as an open communication system at the intersection of local traditions and global trends. It has been proven that the festival environment synthesises genres, styles and practices, giving rise to hybrid forms. Particular attention is paid to the role of festivals in the integration of Ukrainian musical culture into the world space. The article establishes that modern music festivals perform the function of innovative platforms, where new artistic solutions, technological formats and stage practices are tested. The impact of digitalisation on the transformation of the festival space is also highlighted, in particular through online broadcasts, interactive platforms, and expanding the global availability of content. Conclusions. Music festivals have been transformed from traditional entertainment events into complex cultural ecosystems that act as centres for the generation of new musical meanings and styles. They are elements of creative industries that ensure the development of musical art, promote intercultural dialogue and integration of national cultures into the global cultural space. The festival movement in Ukraine demonstrates a growing trend towards professionalisation, experimentation and expansion of genre boundaries, which reinforces its importance as a platform for cultural innovation.
