The article describes a high-precision positioning system for determining the position which uses ultrasonic waves instead of electromagnetic waves. This allows you to dramatically increase the accuracy of navigation, as the sound waves have a length of several orders of magnitude smaller than the electromagnetic waves with the same frequencies. The system consists of ultrasonic emitters, base station and ultrasonic marks. Base station organizes synchronization of ultrasonic transmitters and ultrasonic marks using radio channel.
This article gives an account of the mathematical model of the receiving part of ultrasonic mark that allows to identify the most significant sources of errors in the system. The greatest influence on positioning accuracy has errors caused by vibrations of the sound velocity. These fluctuations are caused by the movement of air masses (wind) or changes of temperature. Another source of error is noise present in the audio channel and insertion system itself. Finally, the error data are summed and the value after processing them increases.References
