Monitoring of the vertical cylindrical steel tank’s wall stress-strain state changes

The implementation of new method for the stress-strained state changes estimation in the vertical cylindrical steel tank wall using its surface points displacements has been presented in the article without the tank acting force and loads taking to account. To restore tank's surface coordinates using the coordinates of individual points on the surface the smoothing spline has been used. It allows to reduce the influence of measurements errors, taking to consideration the wall 3-dimensional displacements, wall's form defects and impact welds. Results of research are handled using the Matlab software package, that confirms the accuracy of the proposed mathematical model and the developed method. In the further work, a system for non-contact remote tank’s surface scanning using laser emitter will be developed, based on the proposed method which will give us possibility, in addition to developed software, to determine tank’s wall coordinates using indirect measurement method and draw a quick conclusion about its actual technical stateReferences
