Abstract

The paper considers the improvement of warehouse security systems through the development and implementation of data analysis blocks from video cameras concurrently  with a warehouse management subsystem. Based on the review of the existing security and warehouse management systems, a number of key tasks have been identified that must be taken into account when developing the system. Specific tasks that can’t still be solved nowadays by means of standard security systems have been identified as well. An intelligent modular system that meets the requirements identified as part of the analysis of the existing solutions and is able to solve a number of specific tasks has been proposed; the tasks being- dynamically changing lighting, filtering of interferences brought by weather changes and others. A number of basic modules have been formed that are necessary for the system to solve the set tasks, and a decision-making module has been developed that directly receives signals from the submodules and analyzes the current situation in the warehouse territory. Algorithms of video surveillance system behavior in various situations have been described. Additional modules that make it possible to improve the quality of the video stream have been built in as well. The lighting adjustment module can function in several light spectra, both in daylight and infrared. This makes it possible to assess the situation in the conditions of switched off standard lighting or in warehouses with limited brightness of lighting. Depending on the frequency of changing the parameters of the objects, two algorithms of the system operation have been developed. This approach makes it possible to adapt the system for different types of warehouses and to save the hardware resources by reducing the number of activation operations for the main functions of the system. Since the system is modular, it makes it possible to activate and deactivate the modules necessary for the specific warehouse. It also allows you to develop additional modules required for specific tasks. The system enables us to control the internal functions of the enterprise and independently to restrict movements within the territory, to control the lighting and sound signals, etc. These functions can be set when the system is deployed in a specific warehouse
