The purpose of the work is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of cultural heritage as an important socio-cultural resource, as well as to identify the main problems and strategic prospects for its development in the context of modern societal transformations. Attention is paid to the relationship between heritage preservation and its potential for sustainable development, innovation, and strengthening of national identity. In addition, the study seeks to show the role of cultural heritage as a platform for intercultural dialogue and the formation of social cohesion. The research methodology. To achieve the research objectives, an interdisciplinary approach was used, synthesising the analysis of historical, legal and cultural sources with the use of systemic, comparative and interpretative approaches to modern scientific research. International experience in the preservation of cultural heritage and the prospects for integrating new technologies into the processes of protection and popularisation of monuments were also taken into account. The scientific novelty. For the first time, a holistic analysis of cultural heritage as a resource was conducted, focusing on the challenges that arise in the process of its preservation, and strategic directions for development were outlined, taking into account modern political, technological, and socio-cultural transformations. The importance of the development of digital technologies and an inclusive approach to the participation of various social groups in cultural processes was emphasised. Conclusions. The comprehensive significance of cultural heritage as a resource for the development of society, its role in preserving national identity and forming social cohesion is outlined. The interrelationship of cultural heritage with innovative technologies, integration into the world cultural space and strengthening the role of civil society is emphasised. It is noted that a modern approach to the preservation of cultural heritage requires a comprehensive understanding of its socio-cultural, economic and environmental value. The need to improve the legal framework, improve the professional training of specialists and develop educational programmes that will contribute to the sustainable development of this area is emphasised. The importance of social inclusion and accessibility of cultural heritage for different groups of the population is also emphasised.
