The purpose of the article is to outline the genre-style and figurative-intonational aspects of the composer’s work for children by contemporary pianist-educators of Kyiv, highlighting it as a key component in the development of Ukrainian piano music. Research methodology. The article employs a set of integrated methods, including: the historical and cultural analysis method – to identify the traditions of the Kyiv piano school and trace its influence on the compositional activities of contemporary pianist-educators; the comparative-analytical method – to compare the creative approaches of individual artists and to determine both shared and distinctive features in their children’s music; the structural-functional analysis method – to classify educators by regional affiliation and determine the role of their compositional work in their professional activity; the artistic-imaginative analysis method – to reveal the semantic and emotional depth of the analysed piano works. Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that, for the first time, the article examines the composer’s work for children by contemporary pianist-educators of Kyiv as a leading component in the evolution of Ukrainian children’s piano music. The study also provides a regional classification of Ukrainian pianist-educators for whom composition plays a significant role in their artistic activity. Conclusions. The study reveals that, at the current stage of Ukrainian music development, the compositional activity of pianist-educators forms the foundation of the piano repertoire for children. The interest of musicians of this creative direction in composition is represented across various regional centres, yet the most vibrant and influential remains the Kyiv hub – represented by pianist-composers of different generations and stylistic priorities. What unites them is their common origin from the Kyiv piano school, and their ability to synthesise compositional talent with a deep understanding of the needs of modern piano pedagogy.
