Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine art as an instrument of international cultural communication and humanitarian diplomacy, identifying its role in the transmission of cultural values, the development of intercultural dialogue, and the formation of a positive international image of the state. Research methodology is based on cultural studies, systemic, and communicative approaches. The methods of analysis and synthesis are applied, along with the comparative method to juxtapose Ukrainian and European artistic practices, and the structural-functional method to identify the communicative and diplomatic potential of art within the framework of the ‘soft power’ concept. Scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive cultural studies interpretation of art as a multidimensional instrument of international cultural communication and humanitarian diplomacy, with the identification of common and distinctive models of its implementation as a ‘soft power’ tool in contemporary Ukrainian and European artistic practices. Conclusions. It is proven that art is an effective instrument of international cultural communication and humanitarian diplomacy, capable of transmitting cultural meanings and values, fostering intercultural dialogue and shaping a positive international image of the state. It is revealed that the combination of the communicative potential of art with institutional support is a key factor in the effectiveness of ‘soft power’ strategies in the contemporary global cultural space.
