Abstract

The purpose of research is to analyse the semantic variations of the image of ‘land’ in art exhibitions in 2022–2024 on the example of the art projects ‘Heart of Earth’, ‘The Borders of the Iron Land’, and the exhibition by Mykhailo Huida. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that allows the use of scientific researches of the following studies: philosophy, cultural studies, sociology of culture, philology, and art history. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: a comparative one (to highlight images of the land in various art projects), an analysis (to reveal the main connotations of the studied concept, a systematic one (to characterise the transformation of the image of the land after a full-scale invasion). The scientific novelty is an the attempt to analyse the semantic variations of the image of ‘land’ in art exhibitions of 2022–2024 on the example of the art projects ‘Heart of the Earth’, ‘The Borders of the Iron Land’, and the exhibition of Mykhailo Huida and the artistic forms of their implementation. Conclusions. Thus, the modern socio-cultural processes in society lead to the transformation of the basic meanings, contained in various artistic and philosophical concepts. This research has revealed the modification of the meanings of the image of ‘land’ and variations in their interpretations – soil, the beginning and end of the life cycle, territory, ‘life impulse’, homeland, origin. The essences of these semantic variations were revealed on the example of art exhibitions in Kyiv after 2022 and 2024, namely ‘Heart of Earth’ (2022), ‘The Borders of the Iron Land’ (2024), and the exhibition by Mykhailo Huida (2024).
